George had been waiting almost a decade to get his chance to play his music. And when the opportunity arose, he exploded with song. George’s debut is a classic — possibly the best solo album of all The Beatles. “My Sweet Lord,” “What is Life,” “Isn’t it a Pity,” “Hear Me Lord” and the title track are all peak work from a brilliant artist. George’s voice was in rare form here and he sounded interested both in songwriting and achieving total consciousness. After this, he’d have other great songs and good albums, but this was the top of the mountain. Tapes in very good vintage condition.
