Richard and Linda Thompson "Shoot Out the Lights" cassette tape

This one, from 1982, was made when their career was in real trouble and their marriage was perhaps in even worse shape. Somehow, amazingly, they made the best album of their careers. “Walking on a Wire” aches. “Wall of Death” is weird, catchy, English Folk Rock. And the title track is incendiary. It’s alternately quiet and then, suddenly, the volume turns way up. There’s a tragedy about it, but, also, it’s a triumph and a masterpiece. Cassette in very good vintage condition.
