Yep — here it is. Van’s solo debut is rightfully considered one of the greatest albums of the Rock era. It’s a jazz, soulful, folky fever dream located on Cypress Avenue, but also in another time, place and dimension. The subjects are both wholly familiar and beyond comprehension. There is absolutely nothing else like it in the idiom and there never will be. It’s almost a cliche to call “Astral Weeks” a masterpiece but, also, most cliches are rooted in truth. A perfect record. Tape in excellent vintage condition.
