This is not their debut but it’s the one, from 1982, when they briefly took over the world. And with good reason. “Rio,” “Hungry Like the Wolf” and “Save a Prayer” are iconic singles and essential MTV moments. They may have been to Pop to be cool, and too late for Post-Punk, but this was this was still peak New Wave. The Patrick Nagel is iconic and so is that sound — young, desperate, sunny and beautiful. Tape in excellent vintage condition.
