A striking double feature that includes both The Attractions and The Confederates. Elvis turned Roots and Folk Rock here and, as he’d done with previous genres, he nailed it. “Brilliant Mistake” is the enduring “hit,” but “Little Palaces” is arresting, “Indoor Fireworks” is gorgeous and “Eisenhower Blues” is a ton of fun. This is a masterwork from an artist who came out fully formed and still, somehow, got better with age. Tape in very good vintage condition.
